Whimsy x Midwest Grotto

Materials: Sea shells, amethyst points, clear quartz points, rough citrine, carnelian, rose quartz, agate, selenite, buttons, bedazzles, misc. beads and charms, old ceramic shards and sea glass I found beach combing the shores of Lake Mendota, opossum vertebrae, acrylic chain link, dominos, czech glass, a spool of red thread, tiny porcelain teapot, a toy dinosaur, cameos, pieces from a colorful glass windchime, old marbles, and polymer clay sprinkles– all embedded in acrylic on an upcycled wooden cathedral style mirror that I etched by hand.

Bubblegum Bath Water

Materials: Chain, an antique silver spoon, sea shells, glow in the dark ducks, a mini glass vial, polymer clay stars, bedazzles, colorful pompoms, amethyst and rose quartz chips, a bottletop, a mini toy ice cream and nail polish bottle, sea glass, a pink bubble bottle, a vintage blue man wine/rim charm, googly eyes, misc. beads and charms all embedded into glues, acrylics, and resin, with sculpting foam airbrushed with fluorescent paint.

The Curio Shelf

Materials: Upcycled mirror with a wooden frame. Old ceramics and glass that have been tumbled by Lake Mendota, including the bottom of a teacup that I turned into a mini shelf. Raccoon jawbone with amethyst teeth, a domino, buttons, bedazzles, sea shells, a tile, vintage silver heart charms, three tiny amber glass vials, misc. beads and charms, freshwater pearls, agate, a peacock feather in a vial, opossum vertebrae, and a crystal/stone moon– all embedded into acrylic.

Cloud Watching

This piece, along with a piece titled 'I-SPY', in an acknowledgement to Walter Wick's inspiring work, were both displayed in Hatch Art House's EcoSquared art show-- a juried exhibition of small square works with upcycled materials by local Madison, Wisconsin artists.

Materials:
Sea glass and ceramic fragments found by me, Shells collected and gifted to me, an amber glass jar filled with found small mammal teeth, a coyote claw I found in Wyoming, miscellaneous glass and metal charms and beads, canvas, and a mixture of spackle, acrylics, and glues.
